The USO provides programs and services to over 300,000 visitors each year. The performance troupe performs for over two million live and millions more through performances via television and radio. Our servicemen and women come from across the country and around the world on leave or while stationed in the New York area. Of particular importance to the Bloomfield United Way are the VA hospital performances at Lyons, Paramus, Menlo Park and East Orange. The troupe also performs deployment and homecoming ceremonies at Ft. Dix and McGuire Air Force Base as well as at patriotic and community events throughout New Jersey. The value of an individual bedside serenade, a holiday meal for a New Jersey soldier visiting New York City before deployment, or the patriotism inspired by a community event supporting our Armed Forces are incalculable. The USO also participates in events for the members of the Federal law enforcement and the police and fire departments of both New York and New Jersey.
